Overview

The department started MSc Physics in 1994, whereas BS Physics and MPhil Physics programs were launched in 2006 and 2010 respectively, after the establishment of Sargodha University in 2002. Moreover, the PhD program was started in 2012. The department has 10 PhD and 6 MPhil faculty members, experts in various disciplines of Physics, and committed to provide quality education. The department has well-equipped state-of-the-art laboratories and theoretical groups such as X-ray Crystallography, Laser Spectroscopy and Thin Film Deposition, Plasma Physics, Nanomaterials, Multiscale Modelling and Simulation, Computational Material Science (DFT), Condensed Matter Physics, Ion Physics and Quantum Dynamics.

Vision

It aims to provide an excellent platform of transferring knowledge by quality teaching along with advanced research and to develop various intellectual and professional skills to mass who can later contribute in society positively. This may include serving society by creating skilled, scientific-minded individuals.
