Workshop on Women Protection Laws and Gender Issues

The Women Development Centre, University of Sargodha, organized a Workshop on Women Protection Laws and Gender Issues at the Research Arena on March 5, 2024, in collaboration with the Institute for Sustainable Development Foundation (IFSD). The workshop was facilitated by Gul Hassan Abbas, Executive Director IFSD, and attended by 34 students and faculty members.

The event aimed to enhance awareness and understanding of women’s rights, legal protection mechanisms, and gender-related challenges. Participants were introduced to key women protection laws in Pakistan and engaged in discussions on gender equality, social inclusion, and the importance of creating safe and supportive environments for women.

During the session, Gul Hassan Abbas highlighted the role of legal frameworks, educational institutions, and community engagement in promoting gender justice and protecting women’s rights. The workshop encouraged participants to critically reflect on gender issues and explore practical approaches to fostering equality and respect within their communities.

The interactive session provided a platform for dialogue and knowledge sharing, enabling participants to gain a deeper understanding of contemporary gender-related challenges and the collective responsibility to address them. The workshop concluded with a question-and-answer session, allowing participants to exchange ideas and discuss strategies for advancing gender equality.

The event reflects the University of Sargodha’s continued commitment to promoting awareness, inclusivity, and social responsibility through educational and capacity-building initiatives.
