SARGODHA, Pakistan — April 29, 2026: The Women Development Center (WDC) at the University of Sargodha organized a seminar titled "Digital Empowerment & Responsible Social Media Use" to strengthen students' digital literacy and promote the ethical use of online platforms in an increasingly connected world.

The seminar featured Dr. Saima Kausar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication & Media Studies at the University of Sargodha, as the keynote resource person. Drawing on her expertise in communication, digital media, social media literacy, media ethics, and public awareness, she emphasized the importance of using digital technologies responsibly for education, civic engagement, and personal development.

Held at Hall No. 01, Academic Block, Department of Communication & Media Studies, the event attracted students from various academic disciplines. Participants explored the opportunities and challenges presented by social media and digital communication, with discussions focusing on ethical online behavior, responsible content sharing, digital citizenship, and the role of media literacy in addressing misinformation and promoting informed public discourse.

During the seminar, Dr. Kausar highlighted the growing influence of digital platforms on contemporary society and encouraged students to critically evaluate online information, protect their digital identities, and engage constructively in virtual communities. She stressed that responsible communication and ethical media practices are essential skills for future professionals and active citizens.

Organized under the theme "Navigate Digital Spaces Wisely. Use Media Responsibly," the seminar aimed to equip students with practical knowledge to navigate digital environments safely and effectively while fostering critical thinking and responsible participation in the digital world.
