SARGODHA, Pakistan – December 15, 2025: As artificial intelligence continues to transform education systems worldwide, the Women Development Centre at the University of Sargodha organized a high-profile panel discussion titled “AI Skill-Based Learning: Building Future-Ready Universities” during the University's flagship research festival, Research Arena 2025: Where Ideas Ignite.
Held at the Learning Zone of the Wazir Agha Library, the event brought together academics, researchers, technology experts, students, and policymakers to explore how universities can adapt to the rapidly evolving demands of the digital age. The discussion highlighted the growing importance of integrating artificial intelligence, data literacy, critical thinking, and digital competencies into higher education curricula.
Speakers emphasized that universities must move beyond traditional teaching models and embrace skill-based learning approaches that prepare graduates for emerging careers in an AI-driven global economy. Panelists discussed how artificial intelligence can support personalized learning, improve research productivity, and enhance student engagement while ensuring ethical and responsible use of technology.
The discussion also addressed the challenges facing higher education institutions, including curriculum redesign, faculty training, technological infrastructure, and equitable access to AI-powered educational resources. Experts called for stronger collaboration between universities, industry leaders, and government institutions to ensure that graduates possess the competencies required by future labor markets.
Participants stressed that empowering women and underrepresented groups with AI-related skills is essential for fostering inclusive innovation and sustainable development. The Women Development Centre reaffirmed its commitment to promoting digital empowerment and creating opportunities for women to participate actively in technological advancement and research.
The panel formed part of the broader Research Arena 2025 initiative, a multidisciplinary platform showcasing innovation, research excellence, and knowledge exchange across diverse academic fields. Through conferences, workshops, exhibitions, and expert dialogues, the event sought to strengthen the culture of research and innovation in Pakistan while connecting local scholarship with global educational trends.
Concluding the session, participants agreed that artificial intelligence should be viewed not merely as a technological tool but as a transformative force capable of reshaping the future of higher education. Universities, they noted, must act proactively to cultivate adaptable, innovative, and technologically proficient graduates capable of thriving in an increasingly interconnected world.
