The University of Sargodha (UoS) organized a New Year 2025 and Christmas celebration to honor its Christian staff members and their families. The event, emphasized the university's dedication to diversity, inclusivity, and mutual respect.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas graced the occasion as the chief guest, joined by ADCG Mr. Umar Farooq, Father David John, Pastor Khuram Shahzad, Registrar Waqar Ahmad, deans, directors, and other distinguished guests.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas emphasized the importance of unity and respect. “You are an integral part of our body, playing an equal and pivotal role in our institution. Together, we must work hand in hand to ensure the progress and prosperity of Pakistan. “May the New Year bring hope, unity, and prosperity for all, as we continue to grow and achieve together” he remarked.
Mr. Umar Farooq underscored the enduring relevance of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s principles of faith, unity, and discipline, urging everyone to uphold these values for the nation’s development.
Father David John encouraged attendees to embrace happiness, peace, and love, stating, "A nation thrives when its people celebrate diversity and promote compassion." Similarly, Pastor Khuram Shahzad highlighted the spirit of serving humanity, noting that Christmas reminds us to practice kindness and understanding in everyday life.
The celebration featured Christmas songs, speeches, and the cutting of a Christmas cake, spreading warmth and joy among all participants.
