University of Sargodha celebrated Medical Laboratory Professionals Week 2026 with an awareness walk and a series of activities aimed at highlighting the role of laboratory professionals in healthcare.
The event was organised by the Department of Allied Health Sciences under the theme “Lab Story: To Infinity and Beyond for Our Patients”, with participation from students of Medical Laboratory Sciences. Activities included an awareness walk, a keynote address and a cake-cutting ceremony.
Chairman of the department, Dr. Muhammad Riaz, in his keynote speech underscored the critical role of laboratory professionals in accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. He described laboratory diagnostics as the backbone of the modern healthcare system and paid tribute to professionals serving in the field.
He also highlighted emerging challenges and future opportunities in laboratory technology, stressing the need for continuous professional development.
The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, reaffirming the importance of recognising the contributions of medical laboratory professionals.
