UoS Seminar explores the role of Educational Institutions in Good Governance

The University of Sargodha organized a seminar titled Role of Educational Institutions in Good Governance to discuss how universities contribute to promoting accountability and ethical practices in society.
The seminar featured Brig Babar Ala -Ud- Din (R) - Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military), Chairperson of the Chief Minister Complaint Cell Inspection Team, as the chief guest. The Seminar was also graced by Vice Chancellor UoS Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mian Ghulam Yasin, deans, faculty members, and students were also present.
While addressing the seminar, Brig Babar Ala -Ud- Din (R) stressed the importance of universities in fostering values like fairness and responsibility. He remarked that educational institutions are not just centers of knowledge but are also responsible for building a sense of responsibility and integrity in individuals.
He further added that universities should focus on creating a generation that understands the importance of honesty, accountability, and respect for rules in every sphere of life. He also highlighted the constructive use of social media in promoting awareness and encouraging ethical behavior.
Encouraging students to take an active role in addressing societal challenges, Brig Babar Ala -Ud- Din (R) pointed that youth are the future custodians of our society, their actions and decisions today will shape the governance standards of tomorrow, he concluded.  
Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas stated that our aim is to provide education that empowers students with critical thinking and a strong sense of ethical responsibility. By cultivating good governance and fostering creativity, we ensure our graduates are prepared to contribute meaningfully to society, he stated.   
Prof. Dr. Mian Ghulam Yasin highlighted that universities must lead by example in implementing ethical principles and inclusive practices within their systems. When institutions operate with integrity and inclusivity, they inspire others to adopt similar approaches, contributing to national progress, he said.
