The University of Sargodha (UoS) celebrated Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day with “Marka-E-Haq” themed festivities, marked by remarkable zeal, unity, and national pride.
The Independence Day ceremony was held outside the Vice Chancellor’s Office, with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas gracing the event as the chief guest.
The ceremony began with a Guard of Honor by the University Security Wing, followed by the flag hoisting performed by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, accompanied by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, Registrar Waqar Ahmad, deans, directors, academic and administrative heads, faculty, staff, students, and children. A cake-cutting ceremony was also held to mark the joyous occasion.
Special prayers for the country’s peace, progress, and prosperity set the tone for the day, while students’ soulful renditions of national songs stirred patriotic emotions among the audience.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas described Independence Day as a moment of renewed resolve, urging everyone to contribute sincerely to Pakistan’s progress, prosperity, and stability. He paid tribute to the Armed Forces for their sacrifices in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and dignity. Referring to recent Indian aggression, he lauded the Pakistan Armed Forces’ successful “Ma’rakah-e-Haq” operation, noting their unwavering commitment to national security.
Adding to the celebrations, the Directorate of Sports organized a range of engaging activities, including basketball, football, and cricket matches, as well as karate demonstrations, which brought additional energy and excitement to the occasion.
