UoS Launches Research Initiatives at Wazir Agha Library to Boost Academic Excellence

University of Sargodha has launched three innovative initiatives of Wazir Agha Library that include the Research Support Program, the Information Literacy Program, and a Library Portal to strengthen the university’s research ecosystem and equip students, faculty, and researchers with the essential tools, skills, and resources needed to thrive in today’s knoweledge-driven world.
The projects were inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas. The ceremony was attended by chief librarian Dr. Muhammad Asif Naveed, Directors, Deans, Chairpersons and faculty members.
Dr. Muhammad Asif Naveed provided a detailed overview of the projects. The Research Support Program offers comprehensive guidance on research development, including proposal writing, publication strategies, and upholding academic integrity.
He stated that the Information Literacy Program is aimed at enhancing the ability of students and faculty to locate, evaluate, and effectively utilize information for academic and professional success.
He also elaborated that the Library Portal a significant digital advancement will serve as a centralized access point to a vast array of scholarly resources, research databases, and learning tools, ensuring seamless access to information across various disciplines.
Addressing the launch ceremony, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas emphasized the transformative potential of these developments. He remarked that these developments not only expand access to essential research resources but also foster a culture of academic inquiry, innovation, and excellence.
He further noted that the initiatives will significantly contribute to elevating the academic standing of the University of Sargodha both nationally and internationally.
