The Department of Mathematics at the University of Sargodha hosted the 7th International Conference on Pure and Applied Mathematics (ICPAM-2025), bringing together international and national scholars to exchange innovative technological ideas, foster interdisciplinary research collaborations, and deepen understanding of emerging trends in the field of mathematics.
The two-day conference brought together researchers, academicians, and professionals from around the world, including 21 international speakers from Turkey, Qatar, Lebanon, South Africa, Morocco, Czech Republic, Saudi Arabia, Romania, South Korea, Iraq, Iran, and Malaysia, alongside 23 national speakers from leading institutions across Pakistan.
While addressing the opening ceremony, Acting Vice Chancellor and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan highlighted the significance of such academic forums, stating that the University of Sargodha is proud to carry forward its tradition of hosting events that foster research excellence and global academic dialogue.
He further remarked that the University is committed to playing a leading role in the academic world by serving as a beacon of scholarly exchange.
Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan also pointed out that our vision is simple and solid: to inspire, connect, and create. “Through events like these, we send a clear signal to the world that the University of Sargodha is ready to lead in education, innovation, and research.” he added.
While speaking to the students, he urged them to make the most of this opportunity and take away knowledge, new friendships, fresh ideas, and exciting possibilities.
Prof. Dr. Amir Ali, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, appreciated the initiative, describing the conference as an important contribution to the advancement of mathematical sciences.
He said that this platform does more than promote mathematical thinking—it bridges gaps between disciplines and provides practical insights for solving today’s complex challenges.
He further noted the growing relevance of mathematics in areas such as engineering, economics, medical sciences, and environmental studies, underscoring the need for such interdisciplinary engagement. Through dialogue and collaboration, we pave the way for impactful research and sustainable solutions, he concluded.
Chairman of the Department of Mathematics, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abbas, shared that ICPAM-2025 continues a successful tradition of international conferences held annually by the department. He explained that the conference primarily supports young scholars, particularly MPhil and PhD students, by connecting them with global experts, innovative research approaches, and emerging trends in the field.
The conference aimed to strengthen global academic collaboration and contribute to policy frameworks that support mathematical research. It focused on building research capacity through knowledge sharing, best practices, and interdisciplinary dialogue.
A key objective of ICPAM-2025 was to foster collaboration among professionals from diverse fields, including engineering, medicine, natural sciences, and economics. The event offered participants valuable exposure to cutting-edge methodologies and fresh perspectives to tackle contemporary mathematical challenges.
The conference concluded on a high note, further reinforcing the University of Sargodha’s standing as a leading academic institution dedicated to research, innovation, and meaningful academic exchange.
