Vice Chancellor University of Sargodha Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas held a productive meeting with Punjab Minister for Higher Education Rana Sikandar Hayat Khan to discuss key development initiatives and the university’s recent academic and research achievements.
The meeting was also attended by Chairman Punjab Zakat & Ushr Council Rana Munawar Ghous Khan, Chairman Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) Malik Shoaib Awan, and Member Punjab Assembly (MPA) Mian Sultan Ali Ranjha.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas briefed the minister on the University of Sargodha’s recent performance in the Higher Education Commission’s research productivity rankings. He informed him that the university secured first position among general category universities in Punjab and ranked ninth nationally, outperforming several leading institutions, including the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
The Vice Chancellor also shared updates on three major strategic initiatives being pursued by the university, including the establishment of an Offshore Campus in China, a Sino-Pak Hospital, and an International Boarding School.
Rana Sikandar Hayat congratulated the University of Sargodha on its outstanding academic and research achievements and appreciated the progress made under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas. He commended the dedication and hard work of the university administration and acknowledged its efforts to enhance academic quality and research excellence.
The minister assured the provincial government’s continued support for initiatives aimed at strengthening higher education, promoting research culture, and expanding international collaboration opportunities for universities across Punjab.
