The University of Sargodha observed the Republic Day of Turkiye with a Flag Hoisting Ceremony, celebrating the nation’s evolution into a modern democratic republic and the strong bond of friendship and mutual respect between Pakistan and Turkiye.
The event commenced with the hoisting of the Turkish national flag by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, followed by a special prayer for the peace, prosperity, and security of both nations. Participants expressed solidarity and admiration for Turkiye’s legacy of democracy, progress, and resilience.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan noted that Pakistan and Republic of Turkiye share a deep-rooted bond of brotherhood, faith, and mutual respect, which continues to strengthen through educational, cultural, and diplomatic cooperation.
He further remarked that the Republic Day of Turkiye reminds us that nations rise through vision, unity, and unwavering commitment to their ideals. He paid tribute to the visionary leadership of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern Turkey, whose reforms laid the foundation for progress and national pride.
Director Riaz Shad Co-Curricular Forum Dr. Munir Gujjar congratulated the people of Turkiye on their Republic Day, expressing confidence that the longstanding friendship between the two nations will continue to strengthen in the years ahead.
The event was organized by Riaz Shad Co-Curricular Forum and attended by Principal College of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Ijaz Rasool Noorka, Director Students Affairs Dr. Mahmood-ul-Hasan, Manager Facilitation Center Dr. Bilal Ahmad, In-charge Incubation Center Salman Ahmad Pracha, Deputy Registrar VC Office Abdul Khaliq Bali, Secretary to Vice Chancellor Muhammad Ahmad, In-charge Public Relations Muhammad Usman, and Assistant Registrar Syed Abid Hussain Shah.
As part of the celebrations, a seminar was held at University Radio, organized by the Riaz Shad Co-Curricular Forum, to discuss the historical, cultural, and diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Turkiye. The session was hosted by Assistant Registrar Daim Iqbal, and featured distinguished speakers including Dr. Muhammad Abrar Zahoor, Chairman Department of History and Pakistan Studies; Dr. Asiya Saif Alvi, Chairperson Department of Political Science; Lecturer Abdul Wahab, and Hafiz Muhammad Umar.
