Sargodha, March 05, 2024. University of Sargodha holds more than 6 activities on the 5th day of the “Research Arena 2024”. The activities include a panel discussion, workshop, two national conferences and conclusion of two international conferences.
The highlight of the day was the panel discussion “From Silence to Voice: Pakistan Women’s Journey towards Empowerment” organized by the Department of Sociology and Criminology. This event brought together a diverse group of speakers, including academics, activists, and professionals, providing multifaceted insights into the challenges and triumphs of Pakistani women.
The chief guest Prof. Dr. Ghulam Yasin, Pro VC UoS emphasized the role of education in empowering women and transforming societal norms. He highlighted the importance of providing equal opportunities for women in education and employment to enable them to contribute effectively to the development of the nation.
Simultaneously, The College of Agriculture hosted a national conference on “Challenges in Citrus Production” and the second National Research Conference on “Colonial and Post-Colonial Dynamics of the Punjab” was organized by the Department of History and Pakistan Studies.
Meanwhile, the Women Development Center conducted a workshop on “Women Protection Laws and Gender Issues in Sargodha Region”.
Fourth day activities of Research Arena 2024 were wrapped up with the concluding sessions of both international conferences on “Modern Trends in Linguistics and Literature” and International Conference on “Teaching Methods of Arabic Language”.
