The Pakistan Institute of China Studies (PICS) hosted the Certificate Distribution Ceremony of the Digital Detox Summer Camp 2025 to celebrate the successful culmination of a three-week-long initiative aimed at helping children disconnect from screens and reconnect with meaningful, real-life experiences.
The event began with opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan, Director PICS, who warmly welcomed the participants, teachers, and parents. He appreciated the vision behind the Digital Detox Summer Camp and commended the organizers for providing children with a much-needed opportunity to step away from digital distractions. He emphasized the significance of such initiatives in today’s technology-driven age and highlighted the importance of encouraging holistic growth through physical activity, creativity, and real-life social interaction. He also acknowledged the dedication of the PICS staff and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the parents for their continued support and participation.
Certificates were awarded to all participating children, volunteer teachers and PICS research officers, recognizing their valuable contribution to the camp's success. The children received appreciation for their enthusiastic participation in a wide range of activities, including physical fitness sessions, language development games, cultural workshops, and creative arts.
