The Pakistan Institute of China Studies (PICS) at the University of Sargodha has announced a two-week “Digital Detox Summer Camp” exclusively for the children of the university’s faculty and staff. The camp is scheduled to run from June 23 to July 5, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM daily.
This initiative aims to promote creative thinking, character building, and cultural engagement among children while offering a complete break from digital screens. According to PICS, no screens or digital devices will be used throughout the duration of the camp, encouraging participants to reconnect with hands-on activities and interpersonal learning.
The program features a diverse range of activities, including art and craft sessions, physical fitness routines, Chinese language and culture classes, and supervised excursion tours. Organizers say that special attention will be paid to enhancing children’s imagination, problem-solving skills, and appreciation for cultural diversity.
A PICS spokesperson highlighted that the camp’s objective is not only to offer an engaging summer activity but also to help children reset their minds and habits away from screens, fostering healthier routines and interpersonal development.
Eligibility is limited to children of the University of Sargodha’s faculty and staff, and seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested parents can download the application and challan forms from the official PICS website:
