Sargodha, 03 September 2024.Commissioner Sargodha, Jahanzeb Awan, paid a visit to the University of Sargodha, where he met with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas in his office. During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest.

The Vice-Chancellor briefed the Commissioner on the ongoing educational, research, and developmental projects at the university. He informed that over 24,000 students are currently enrolled at the University of Sargodha, and this number exceeds 50,000 when including affiliated colleges. This large student body reflects the strong trust students and their parents have in the institution, he added.

Discussing the university's solar energy project, the Vice-Chancellor highlighted that the entire university has been transitioned to solar energy, and further self-sustainability initiatives are underway. Speaking on the provision of quality education, he emphasized that the university boasts an excellent faculty dedicated to shaping the bright futures of students. He further stated that alongside modern education, students are also being equipped with skills aligned with market demands to ensure their success in professional life. He also mentioned the Waheed Wain Incubation Center, which is actively promoting students' business ideas and has been recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

Commissioner Sargodga, Jahanzeb Awan praised the Vice-Chancellor, stating that these initiatives make the University of Sargodha an exceptional institution in all aspects. He congratulated the Vice-Chancellor on maintaining exemplary discipline. The Commissioner further praised the University of Sargodha’s pivotal role in providing higher education and character building for the region's youth.

The Commissioner assured the Vice-Chancellor of his continued support for the welfare and development of the University of Sargodha. At the conclusion of the meeting, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas presented an honorary shield to Commissioner Malik Jahanzeb Awan.
