Chinese Consul General Lahore handed over Rs.1 million scholarship cheque for UoS students

Sargodha, August 13, 2024. To strengthen educational ties between China and Pakistan, Mr. Zhao Shirin, Consul General of the Chinese Embassy in Lahore, announced the “Consular General Scholarship” for students of the University of Sargodha.
This announcement was made during a meeting with Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sargodha. Mr. Zhao presented the cheque of Rs. 1 million to support both merit-based and financially needy students at UoS.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas expressed his appreciation for the generous contribution from the Chinese Consul General. He emphasized the positive impact this scholarship will have on the student's educational journeys, stating, “This scholarship is not just a financial contribution; it is an investment in the future of our students and the strong educational ties between our two nations.
The Vice-Chancellor further added, “This initiative by His Excellency Mr. Zhao Shirin reflects the strong bond between Pakistan and China, particularly in the field of education. It is a testament to our shared commitment to fostering academic excellence and providing opportunities for students to succeed, regardless of their financial circumstances.”
