The Chairperson Punjab Higher Education Commission Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, highlighted the pivotal role of educated and forward-thinking youth in addressing the current challenges faced by the nation and emphasized the need for universities to guide students towards a deeper understanding of economic and societal issues.
He addressed the second day of the 10th Convocation at the University of Sargodha (UoS). The ceremony was initiated in a ritualistic manner, with the entrance of the academic procession presided over by the Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir along with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mian Ghulam Yasin, Registrar Waqar Ahmed, and Controller Examinations Dr. Muhammad Bashir.
During the 2nd day of the convocation, degrees were conferred upon students having bronze medal distinctions from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, and Faculty of Social Sciences.
In his opening address, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas expressed his gratitude towards the Chairman PHEC for gracing the occasion and congratulated the students, their parents and teachers, on their achievement. He outlined the significant accomplishments during his first year as Vice Chancellor, including resolving administrative issues through 30 board meetings. He also shared key progressive reforms implemented during his first year as Vice Chancellor, and ambitious future plans as well.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir congratulated the graduates, expressing hope that they would contribute to the prestige of their alma mater through their unique research perspectives. He further stressed that the responsibility of shaping students' intellect lies with the teachers, who play a crucial role in honing their abilities and molding positive attitudes. He commended the efforts of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, acknowledging his dedication and sincerity in steering the university toward success.
After the formal ceremony, students celebrated their achievement with enthusiasm and fun-filled activities.
