Sargodha: 30 November 2023- All Pakistan Universities Table Tennis (W) Championship 2023-24 kicked off on Thursday at University of Sargodha.

The opening ceremony was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, UoS Prof Dr. Qaisar Abbas.  Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mian Ghulam Yasin, Prof. Dr. Amir Ali, University Teaching Department Sports Committee, Maher Ahmad Khan Haral, Director of Sports, Liaqat Ali Waraich, Educationists, young athletes from different universities, coaches, administrative officers, faculty members, and a large number of students also graced the occasion.

Addressing the opening ceremony Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, emphasized the pivotal role of universities as hubs for both academic and co-curricular activities, including sports and research opportunities.

He stated “It is a matter of high rejoice for me that 24 teams of female athletes are participating from various universities across the country in the five-day Table Tennis (W) Championship. It will not only serve as a platform for showcasing athletic proficiency but also stand as a beacon of empowerment for women in sports’’.

Furthermore, he underlined the university's dedication to providing comprehensive avenues for students to thrive not only academically but also athletically.

On this momentous occasion, Prof. Dr. Qaiser Abbas met the different university teams of athletes and ensured them the utmost hospitality and support while in a delightful moment, VC engaged in a friendly game of table tennis with the Pro Vice-Chancellor to encourage students in co-curricular activities.
