SPEAKERS DISPERSE GREATER ACQUAINTANCE OF LATEST TRENDS IN MATHEMATICS
The 5th International Conference on 'Pure and Applied Mathematics,' organized by the Department of Mathematics, Sargodha University, dispersed greater acquaintance of the latest trends in the field of mathematics.
The two-day conference – held on February 24-25 in collaboration with the Punjab Higher Education Commission and National Mathematical Society of Pakistan – provided a venue to academics, researchers, professionals and practitioners from across the world to share and discuss research findings, experiences and practical issues.
On the occasion, 16 international and more than 50 national mathematicians highlighted the role of mathematics in thinking  logically through oral presentations, research articles and keynote speeches. 

RECOMMENDATIONS

• The mathematicians from across the world including USA, China, Morocco, Croatia, Turkey, South Africa, Romania,  Malaysia  and  United  Arab  Emirates discussed  the  innovative  ideas,  shared  new information,  talked   about  the  challenges  taking place  in  the  field  of  mathematics  and  made following recommendations:
• Computer simulation tool for mathematical modeling could be used for predicting behavior and many other real-world problems.
• Numerical computation and simulation can be used to solve cavity flow problems which occurs in biological, physical and engineering models.
• Mathematical modeling, especially fractional calculus modeling can play important role in biology to diagnose the problem and present the efficient solution.
• In order to represent the natural groundwater flow in the environment, a groundwater model could be useful. Exact and numerical solution of mathematical model of groundwater flow solved many engineering problems related to groundwater flow both in natural and artificial form.
• A fractal is non-regular geometrical that has the same degree of non-regularity on all scales. By implementations of the fractal derivative to fractal media model can be effective for heat transfer and water permeation in multi-scale fabric and wool fibers.
• Like Turkey, STEM, a paradigm based on the collaboration    of    Science,    Technology, Engineering and Mathematics disciplines should be incorporated to training the techno-brains of the 21st century. Mathematics can play vital role in giving numerical thinking skills which is the basis of technology and engineering.
