Shumaila Islam is a visual artist. Born in Lahore, Pakistan, she is M. Phil in studio Practice Art & Design from PUCAD. She is currently joined as Lecturer in Fine Arts at UOS and formerly served at University of Education Lahore. She has displayed her work in significant group shows on renowned national platforms and in Turkey. She has been part of an artist residency at Shakir Ali Museum in 2018. Her work has been selected for Santorini-Mykonos art fairs Greece 2018 and Izmir Biennale 2019. She is faculty at university level. She conducted her first curation in May 2019. She has been interested in collaborative practices about decimating boundaries and create a connection between interdisciplinary fields. Evoking highly conceptual directions, her practice and research investigates the human self, her relationship with nature and spiritual growth. She is a contributor at acknowledged art magazines Art Now Pakistan and Nigaah magazine online. She has curated significant art exhibitions & volunteer works for marginalized group of humans.
