US Consul General visits LCS

Counsel General (CG), US Consulate General Lahore Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau and Deputy Public Affairs Officer Maryum F. Saife visited Lincoln Corner Sargodha (LCS) on November 1, 2017. They visited Tech and 3D workstation, Reading Lounge and activity corner of LCS. 

Miss Maryam Gul (Coordinator LCS) gave highlights of the different interactive, learning and team building activities conducted at these sections. She briefed US dignitaries about the two year journey of success. She said that LCS had hosted more than five fifty programs since 2015 and more than forty thousand program participants had been facilitated through these programs. She shared we had arranged multiple programs such as training on human rights, development of support groups for people with drug addiction, community leadership, tech education sessions, workshops on website development, 3D printing, photography, videography ,story illustration, critical thinking, confidence building, EducationUSA, elibraryUSA, women empowerment, storytelling and gatherings like cultural festivals, Summer Camps and Makers Faire. 

Focal Person of LCS, Dr. Azhar Perveez, appreciated the efforts of LCS team and the coordinator for working tirelessly to make this place a learning hub. CG also had an informal meeting with Friends of Corner, Ambassadors of corner, volunteer Board of Advisors and internees at Lincoln Corner Sargodha (LCS).

Team of corner highlighted their journey of self-development, gaining community leadership skills and capacity building, English learning sessions, Summer School and community outreach through interactive learning sessions with consulate people. Future plans like mini literature festival, formation of informal study groups on Sustainable Development Goals, Entrepreneurship Training were also shared.

CG appreciated the corner as one of the most active and impactful among all corners in Pakistan. She is optimistic that snowball effect through resourceful, informative programming at the corner will positively influence the University of Sargodha and community in long run.
